My heart turns to Africa…

On Mother’s Day weekend, May 10, on a Friday to be exact, our lives were blessed and totally changed forever, by two sweet boys from West Africa.

It really all began in April, when we met Summer Gordon. She is a dear friend of our friends, Lance and Lori. She is now a missionary with Komeo International Ministries and lives in Sierra Leone. She came and shared her story at our Lifegroup and the passion that she has for the Wellington Orphanage children. God began a stirring in me that I knew was God calling me. Not only to engage in a deeper relationship through prayer and study, but to truly embrace the purpose of why we are here in the first place. To BRING GLORY to HIM and lead others to Christ.

Now we are blessed and so thankful to God above to be able to support two sweet boys through Komeo at the Wellington Orphanage in Sierra Leone, West Africa. God is so good and he is taking care of these sweet ones who are so far away! They are a part of our family now. Moses is 20 and Gabriel Alie is 23, they are precious boys.

It is so amazing how God works in our lives, but we can’t get ahead of him, we have to wait on the Lord and HIS plans, not ours. I have to remind myself of this every day. And each day that I do, I am blessed more and more and encouraged to follow His will even more fervently and steadfastly.

We are currently saving and working toward raising money to go to Africa in 2014 and would ask for your prayers in this endeavor. God is calling and we are saying, “Here am I, send me!” We will go into all the world…sharing the love of God.

“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” Luke 10:2
